What is 1-on-1 Multiplication Mentoring?
A mentor is a mature disciple of Jesus Christ who glorifies God through a surrendered life, and who faithfully reproduces other mature reproducing disciples.
Are you challenged to make mature reproducing disciples? Considered being mentored 1-on-1, with the goal of raising up other disciples that reproduce. The Apostle Paul said to Timothy, his disciple, "And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others." 2 Tim 2:2
1 John 2:12-14 – “I am writing to you, dear children, because your sins have been forgiven on account of his name. I am writing to you, fathers, because you know him who is from the beginning. I am writing to you, young men, because you have overcome the evil one. I write to you, dear children, because you know the Father. I write to you, fathers, because you know him who is from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God lives in you, and you have overcome the evil one.”
What is the distinction John is making between “fathers,” “young men,” and “children”? Is he indicating different levels of maturity and responsibility among believers?
• Children have come to a saving knowledge of Christ.
• Young Men are strong in the Word of God and have successfully fought the spiritual battle.
• Fathers know God intimately and have experienced a deep relationship with God that results in spiritual reproduction.
